PLC: Travis Porter’s 10 Year Anniversary

Image
I celebrated a 10 year anniversary.....I’m OLD! 🙃 I’ve now seen a lot of comments on this video so let’s get into it!  Some of you watched this video and said: Where are their mask? What happened to social distancing? 6 ft apart remember ? (This tweet actually made me giggle)  So I’ll get into the dynamic of the parking lot first for a brief moment prior to giving you all the details of my experience of the show. They really had vendors, a small basketball court, and more as shown on the map.  They had VIP parking which included a meet and greet, photos with Travis Porter & Friends, and a free All Star meal at a near by Waffle House. ICONIC! I should have purchased that package.  🗣🗣🗣 Breakfast at the Waffle House 20 sausage biscuits But they had a section for the Twerkers (refers to  the flyer)! A twerk contest section to be exact! Yes we are in a pandemic, but for some there was money to be made! It gave the video above

Quarantine Questions

I’m finally in the headspace to write so let’s get it... Me:  Y’all:  How you holding up? How you feel about no shows until 2021? How you been, I know music & concerts bring you joy? How’s life been without concerts? The questions that I’ve highkey been asked constantly.  Now that I’ve opened up about how shows have really helped me mentally I guess it’s common for people to care about how I’m doing since I’m unable to do something that  makes me happy/brings me joy.   Even funnier that I started a blog about concerts in a season where not being able to go to any concerts would be a thing. One week I’m enjoying Rod Wave and the next the week there’s a “Stay at Home” order. 2020 came out swinging.  I could have easily thought....Issa joke   I could have felt discouraged, right?? Think about it: A concert Blog....something different, something fun, something where I can finally find the words to release in a healthy way ultimately has to “end” because

Hardly Home: The Playlist

Image
Because of Miss. Rona 🦠 I don't have any concerts to blog about. My next show probably isn't until May. I was having a rough day yesterday and completed this playlist I started the other night. My playlist is entitled "Hardly Home". I'm from 〽️emphis, 〽️emphis.....〽️emphis, TN that is. The majority of my family lives there except my step mom and little brother. Being away can be hard. I know I don't call enough or check in as often as I should.....but I miss it. I miss my people, my friends, THE FOOD...a lot of things. I find myself saying that I'll move back home one day, but I'm not in a rush to do so. I haven't visited home in a while, because there are still things that I know I'm avoiding/grieving from.  Back to this playlist...the men in my family are very musically oriented...playing the bass, drums, piano, guitar, singers, DJs...all that. My best friends and big brother are BIG music heads as well. Hmmm....if I have a typ

Rod Wave was almost not the Wave

BRUH. So Aliyah and I were late, but on time. The show didn’t start until 8 so there was really no need to be in a rush to get there. We also didn’t feel obligated to be front row for this one. The show was at Believe Music Hall. I parked in the same area as the last time and it was a very ratchet experience! The man wanted me to back into a spot that barely existed. I’m a professional so I made it work! I went through trials and tribulations, but it worked out. I was suppose to pay to park according to the sign, but he never asked for my money so I kept it pushing 😭🙃! It’s Sunday so let’s pray that my car is still there! We should have known it was going to be an interesting night simply because of the parking situation. UPDATE: My car was still there. 🙌🏾 The parking man asked if we were going to the fair had no clue what he was talking about, but there is a fair in Mechanicsville right now. It looked cute!  We get in line for them to check our bags/wallets an

Wale is my Valentine 💙🌙

Doors don’t open until 8 and well it’s coldddddddddd outside! I think my new retainers make my teeth shiver really hard and loud. It’s only 7:38. I’m about to cry !! We have 15 more minutes of standing in this line. Lawd, I better get a good spot up close 😂. You know how people like to be early for movies that’s how I feel about concerts. It’s 8:16. I’m a human popsicle! I’m in line texting my sister trying to distract myself from how cold it is. I think my knees are about to give out on me. Folks look really cute with their boo! I tend to do this concert thing alone and you know how much confidence and how okay you have to be with yourself to go to public settings alone....especially on Valentine's day. I’m in the venue, still cold...but warmer than before. After the baggage of today healthy coping came right on time. Glad I didn’t wear my best outfit. The Believe Music Hall looks like a church on the outside, but the inside was cool. Just like that I’m fr

Wale

I LOVE WALE! 💙🌙 (I wrote this in November, but edited it and now it says February)  I waited my whole life for Wale to go on tour, not really my whole life but it felt that way! I bought tickets and didn’t think twice about it. My little sister came with me, she’s the best. It was my first time seeing Wale and I’ll for sure see him again. His tour started before he dropped “Wow... That’s Crazy” and will be performing in Atlanta again on Valentines Day. So we know what I'm doing on Valentine's Day!  Wale is one of my favorite artist! He’s a true lyricist! Often slept on or not appreciated as much. I really think this man is amazing, wow...that’s crazy. He’s such a storyteller and that’s probably what I love the most. Wale is a hopeless romantic and I love it. I really enjoyed this show in October ! Lotus Flower Bomb @ Center Stage on 10/4/19

BeBe Winans & Korean Soul

Image
My first concert of 2020 was BeBe Winans & Korean Soul. For the first Sunday of the year my Atlanta (Roswell) Church, Eagles Nest Church , included these men as a part of the worship service. Very iconic and Korean Soul has SOUL! They can sang! I grew up Baptist...Missionary Baptist so I absolutely loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee a good choir. These men blessed us and you could really feel the spirit moving. I love 90's/Early 2000s Gospel ! Modern Gospel is cool...but nothing like the old classics. Korean Soul singing "Total Praise" was beautiful! My mom being a choir director when I was a kid has a lot to do with my love for old gospel songs.  I sung in the choir for years as well. I even sung in the gospel choir in college..S/o to LH! I have my gospel playlist on here as well, just click shuffle. For the first hour of my day I try to really center my day around God by listening to Gospel Music. It started off as being something that I did while fasting, b

Uncle Charlie Wilson

Image
Uncle Charlie the LEGEND! The venue smelled like beer and cologne full with married people and/or 40+ saints and I had a great time! My mom and I haven't done a concert together since Beyoncé and Jay. I believe she had a great time too. First Name CHARLIE, Last Name WILSON turnt up and took us to church! I have nothing negative to say about this show. It was the perfect way of ending my 2019 tour of concerts. I still don't have a name for this Blog yet....and I was suppose to write about Charlie Wilson's show a little while ago, but better late than never. The costumes for the dancers in the " You Are " video below was probably the most iconic moment. The footage of Uncle Charlie running on the "Keep running" part form The Gap Band Classic tickled my soul.

Snoh Aalegra & Baby Rose

Sooooo basically this guy created this playlist for me and it had a couple songs from her 2017 album "Feels" and 2016 album "Don't Explain"....instant fan. Her 2019 album "-Ugh,those feels again" was EVERYTHING! One of my favorite albums of 2019 honestly. The perfect combination of all the sap broken heart hopeless romantic feelings I needed musically at the time. Her concert in Atlanta sold out fast af! It took me weeksssssssssssssssssssssssss before I could secure tickets and thank God I did. This show was amazing! She has an amazing voice. The crowd loved her. She sounds exactly like how she did on the album. I didn't too much care for the lighting during the show because it made it hard to see her, but Center Stage is one of my favorite venues in Atlanta. Baby Rose opened the show and WOW I was not expecting that big of a voice from such a little person.  She even took pictures with people after her performance. I Want You Aroun
