Cole World: The Off-Season Tour

It's me being so excited to be writing about concerts and then realizing how sad my post slick use to be. I'm back and I'm better. This post probably will be short (I lied)....so eager to be writing, but I should be working since they have me in the office.

I had a BLAST!! THE TIME OF MY LIFE1

The excitement and joy I experienced..wow. I truly missed going to shows as a hobby.....an expensive one, but still a hobby.

Transportation to shows is always a struggle: Where to park? How much is parking? Who's going to drive?

With the show being at State Farm Arena, I suggest taking Marta ($5 round trip).

If you are too good for public transportation then typically you can go to StateFarm's website and do reserve parking for about $20-25. Also, the "Sapphire Deck" connected to Hudson Grille Downtown (they have decent food and drinks) & The Sky Lounge / Glenn Hotel is about $15+ for parking.

If you hold Atlanta Hawks Season tickets then you get a parking deal for the Sapphire deck to games and events at the arena for $10.

I was 100% prepared to go to this show alone when I purchased my ticket, however Mya has moved to the city, Tara came to town, and Li joined us.

Mya and Tara took Marta for the first time! We tried to do right by attempting to add money to our Breeze Pass, but the machines didn't take the payment. I feel like it is pretty common for the machines to not work. We eventually just swipped one card and all 4 of us went through the gate. The security guy was cool about so that was nice. Li have to limbo under the gate, but we all made it. When trying to finesse Marta for your friends who don't have a pass...swipe your card at the handicap/wheelchair end and everyone must move swiftly.

Truly and train rides to bring in the concert vibes! We are entering fall and the Truly Punch Mix pack carried me this summer! S/o to Michelle and Modge.

The line for the bar was longgggggggggggg, like crazy long!. But we stopped at the first bar we saw like  everybody and they mama did. The t-shirt line was even looooooooooonnnnnnnnnngger.

We were in line to get drinks during Mr. Morray's opening performance. I only know one of his songs so I wasn't too worried. The one song that I knew is for sure his best song because he performed it twice so I did eventually get to see him!

21 SAVAGE hits the stage!

Sooooo, I missed the first couple songs because I eventually saw a short t-shirt line and had to cop shirts.

21 Savage was GREAT! OMG. I didn't realize that I've never seen him before until that moment. A great performance. He gave us both old and new 21. Hearing his Knife Talk verse live was probably the highlight of his performance. I loved his stage setup with the knife (people kept calling it a sword) as the main focal point. It was so great, almost perfect!

Druski was the host and entertainment before J. Cole came on and it went something like this....

I've seen J.Cole a lot, well I've gone to the last 3 tours. I'll probably will always go to his shows as long as I can. He gives a great performance EVERY time! Loved everything about it. He had a live band this time and last time he had an orchestra. The dynamics of the stage with the fire basketball goal was so nice! He didn't perform as many new songs from the album as  I expected he would. Most people go to concerts hoping the artist performs their old songs anyways, you know the "classics" and indeed he did. He gave us a taste of everything from Friday Night Lights to Revenge of the Dreamers III. His most recent album probably isn't my favorite, but he was rapper Cole so he had a lot to say. Being in Atlanta of course I thought there would be more "Special Guest" so that may have been the disappointing part of the show outside of the fact that it ended at 1/2 AM on a MONDAY. For the people with jobs (ME) I'm sure they had to go to work the next day TIRED!. Although I was tired for work it was worth it.

I was happy to see more of Dreamville: Bas, Earth Gang, and JID. Although, I not going to Dreamville Fest (April 2-3, 2022), but I must see JID on his own tour. I think Bas is the coolest person ever, another GREAT performer. I've seen him a couple years ago and you can watch my video clips from his show under his page on this blog.

Bruh, 21 and Cole performed A LOT 😭! A hit!

If you actually read my post when I was on my sad girl shxt...I mentioned needing a new J. Cole date, but boyyyyyyyyy I had the time of my life by myself 😂.

The train ride home was......interesting. Just happy we made it back. Mya is officially a CityGirl /A Georgia Peach! Tara will never take the train again and we will be driving to the next show together.

As my second show of the year, this was indeed the experience of happiness that I needed after a very long time without concerts!
